Milagro Cosmic-Ray Localized Excess in the Popular Press

The regions of excess cosmic rays with the local stars
overlaid. The constellation Orion is visible in the lower region

Today, the Milagro Collaboration published in Physical Review Letters a fascinating
result on a localized excess of cosmic rays today.
This result is important because it represents the
first time that small-scale features of the cosmic-ray background
have been identified.
